Osmeña Blvd. Cebu City
Cebu City, Philippines, April 15, 2021, the scene during my fieldwork and official travel to pay our monthly payment of services, loans, premiums, and other transactions, despite the pandemic business as usual as you can see many vehicles passing by and traffic were imminent in the downtown.
BIR Office
The first office that I visited, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Talisay, Cebu City, to submit BIR Form 1905 to update the tax remitting agency of the newly hired employee. One down and need four more offices to transact, from BIR office I need to ride a bus to reach my second destination the GSIS Office.
GSIS Building
The second stop, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Regional office, to pick up the official receipt of the premiums paid since we are advised to pay directly to the bank as precautionary measures of the COVID 19 restrictions and to avoid long lines at the GSIS counter. After taking my lunch, heading for the next office to transact, and waiting for a jeepney to ride for my next itinerary, the PLDT, Inc. office.
PLDT Building
The third stop, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), Inc. located at Jones Avenue, Osmeña Blvd, to pay the monthly bills of internet subscription, after finishing my transactions waiting for another jeepney to ride to reach the Golden Peak Hotel and Suites where the PhilHealth office located.
PhilHealth Office
The fourth stop, the PhilHealth Regional Office, Cebu City, to submit the form for updating of newly hired employees since their walk-in transactions are limited an online submission is advised, at last, I need one more office to transact for my last itinerary to accomplish. While waiting for the rain to stop, then another jeepney ride to reach my last destination.
National Teachers and Employees Cooperative Bank
The final stop, the National Teachers and Employees Cooperative Bank, to remit the loan repayments of my co-employees. It is very tiresome work since I commute for more than a 2-hour ride from Toledo City.
This a routine work since employed at the DepEd for more than 20 years, but happy for every job accomplished for a day. I'm now heading home, breath, relax and plan for another work the next morning.
Wow.
